best. chocolate. chip. cookie. recipe.

Many years ago my husband, who was originally trained as a Chef, found this recipe and we have never looked back or looked at another chocolate chip cookie recipe since. We love it! And I can honestly say that I would probably be ashamed to say how many of them I have eaten over those many years. God, when I think about it, the amount may be ridiculous. I know we got this recipe from an old workmate of mine many years ago. I din’t know if she made it herself or if she got it somewhere else. I feel so bad for that. If anyone recognizes it, feel free to email me about it.

chocolate chip cookies

1 cup butter or margarine

1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

2 cups all purpose flour

1/4 cup cornstarch

3/4 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

2 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate

Cream butter and sugar together. Beat in eggs 1 at a time. Add vanilla. Sift flour, cornstarch, salt and baking soda together and add. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls onto Silpat baking liner. Bake in 350 degree oven for 10-15 minutes depending on the heat of your oven. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
